‘The best of everything’ this Mother’s Day at Mezepoli

26 April 2021 With just two weeks until Mother’s Day, many of us are still trying to think of the perfect way to express our gratitude to the woman who raised us. Whatever you decide, a beautiful meal is bound to be at the heart of this special day – a moment to relax, connect and enjoy some quality time together.


“Keeping mom out of the kitchen is one of the golden rules when it comes to any Mother’s Day celebration,” affirms Joyce Tshuma, mother of two children and manager at Mezepoli Melrose Arch. “With all the additional meal planning, shopping and cooking that mothers have had to do over the past year, this Mother’s Day is the occasion to treat her to a sumptuous meal and a glass of something special.”


Joyce recalls how this time last year, all Mother’s Day celebrations had to take place at home, in isolation. “This Mother’s Day however, we at Mezepoli are thrilled to be able to welcome our loyal customers into our airy and spacious restaurants where they can enjoy seriously good food, outstanding service and a great vibe. We also have a special little gift in store to celebrate these wonderful women and to thank them for everything they have done over the past year.”


Mezepoli’s super fresh, varied meze menu is the perfect fit for this particular occasion, allowing the woman of the moment to sample the flavours and textures of several different dishes and truly giving her the best of everything.


According to Chef Lindi Ncube, mother of two children and head chef for Mezepoli restaurants, the many fresh, light and flavoursome items on the menu make the restaurants particularly popular amongst women. “Imagine treating mom to a beautiful selection of meze such as our golden fried calamari with wasabi aioli, succulent grilled prawns, marinated artichokes, light and perfectly crisp feta and Gruyère croquettes and a gorgeous salad on the side along with some dips and slices of pita bread, of course. Round it off with our velvety smooth tiramisù and that is a meal that’s hard to beat,” says Lindi, with a smile.


No meal at Mezepoli would be complete without a glass of wine chosen from the extensive, carefully selected wine list or one of the many specially developed Mezepoli cocktails, such as the Agave y Fresa made with Patrón Silver, fresh strawberries, basil, lemon juice and sugar or the Gin Smash – a superb combination of Tanqueray, cucumber, pineapple, orange and lemon.
